Two PBs in three days. It might not impress most of my friends but both are big steps in my Crossfit training. Continue reading

The Open – Crossfit Games 2018
This is my 3rd year in doing Crossfit and my 3rd Open and again my goal was to remain a top 50% crossfit athlete in my age group in Sweden.
In 2016 I was 41.8% total in the world, 41% in Europe and 50% in Sweden.
In 2017 I wanted to place better and do better. I finished 40.7% in the World, 39% in Europe and 50.2% in Sweden. What I found interesting with 2017 was that I strated off in the 60’s world and Europe, but over 70 in Sweden and with 3 strong results in 17.3, 17.4 and 17.5 I was able to move up the ladder.
Beach Event 2016
Last year Crossfit Växjö won the Beach Event at Falkenberg when Fredrik crossed the finish line with the fastest time and I came in fourth. This year Fredrik was away and my participation in the event was doubtful considering what happened last Saturday.
But the weather forecast was sunny and warm, so the family woke up early and we headed to the west coast. Continue reading
Hitting Rock Bottom
As most of my friends are aware, I have been on a downward spiral when it comes to my training and my body weight. This past weekend at the Swedish Nationals for Masters Swimming short course, I think I can say that I finally hit rock bottom… My times during the three day competition were around the same level I had back in 2006 when I just started back up in Masters.
Sick Day nr 20 & The Open 16.5
So I woke up this morning (Wednesday the 30th) coughing, making it now day 20…
I thought that I would have been able to swim last night, that is how good I felt at lunch time. I get to the pool, change and write the workout up on the board, but once I have to start talking to my swimmers, my throat starts to close up again. So after getting them started and watching the first half of the main series, I go home again.

Man’s Cold & 16.4
Monday the 14th I was out of town with work all day, but Tuesday I managed to get in a lunch time WoD as planned. I pick up the girls just after 16:00 and head home to make dinner. I had had a little cough since Thursday the 10th, but nothing I was concerned about. Until just before 18:00.

Fabulous 40 & The Open 16.3 – a Perfect 10
Just had a big weekend. My wife turned 20 for the second time on the 10th. Thursday night, the girls and I took Jeanette out for pizza. All three girls were very hungry and ate up their entire pizza by themselves.
Flat on my back, 16.2 & the Filthy Fifty
What a week. A last minute site visit in Estonia, falling flat on my back outside the hotel on Tuesday and then 4 days of Double unders.
Where to start… Last Friday it was decided that I would travel to Estonia on Monday with an open return ticket. I booked it for Thursday in hopes to be finished my work and home in time to test 16.2 on Friday.

The Open 16.1 – Rx
So it’s that time of year again. When over 40,000 from around the world take on 5 WoDs over 5 weeks to see what they can do.
After last years Open, I set my goals rather high. I wanted to be in the top 25%, but my progression in crossfit training has gone slower than I had thought, but in a good way. I am improving my technique and getting stronger with each WoD. So I’m hoping to just improve my ranking this year.

4 new PBs while resting my back ;)
So I’m “resting” my back. It’s not easy but I’m trying.
I skipped 1650m of this mornings masters swimming because my right arm got numb during warm up. But jumped back in for the last series and am happy with the 3100m.
