I haven’t written as much about the Open this year as I did last year, but here comes a summary for those of you interested.
My goal was to be last years final placement. I was very close to being better in all three categories:
Masters Men 40-44 World Wide (total 20898) I was 8735 – 41.8%
Masters Men 40-44 Europe (2558) I was 1049 – 41%
Masters Men 40-44 Sweden (240) I was 120 – 50%
So I met with a neurologist last week. This follow up meeting was suppose to happen in October, but I was sent around different departements with in the hospital for various test and then everyone forgot about me…
So I woke up this morning (Wednesday the 30th) coughing, making it now day 20…
I thought that I would have been able to swim last night, that is how good I felt at lunch time. I get to the pool, change and write the workout up on the board, but once I have to start talking to my swimmers, my throat starts to close up again. So after getting them started and watching the first half of the main series, I go home again.
Monday the 14th I was out of town with work all day, but Tuesday I managed to get in a lunch time WoD as planned. I pick up the girls just after 16:00 and head home to make dinner. I had had a little cough since Thursday the 10th, but nothing I was concerned about. Until just before 18:00.
Just had a big weekend. My wife turned 20 for the second time on the 10th. Thursday night, the girls and I took Jeanette out for pizza. All three girls were very hungry and ate up their entire pizza by themselves.
What a week. A last minute site visit in Estonia, falling flat on my back outside the hotel on Tuesday and then 4 days of Double unders.
Where to start… Last Friday it was decided that I would travel to Estonia on Monday with an open return ticket. I booked it for Thursday in hopes to be finished my work and home in time to test 16.2 on Friday.
So it’s that time of year again. When over 40,000 from around the world take on 5 WoDs over 5 weeks to see what they can do.
After last years Open, I set my goals rather high. I wanted to be in the top 25%, but my progression in crossfit training has gone slower than I had thought, but in a good way. I am improving my technique and getting stronger with each WoD. So I’m hoping to just improve my ranking this year.
