When it comes to Masters swimming in Sweden, it’s not fair to only share results based on the number of times one makes the podium. My chances for getting a medal is 100% based on the number of swimmers that decide to show up.

Supervised 72 hour fast and training
So I was informed earlier this week that my Synacthen test showed no abnormally low levels of Cortisol. So they have no called me in for a 72 hour fast test to confirm and determine the cause of suspected spontaneous hypoglycemia which I experienced back in July at the end of Kalmar Swimrun.

40 hours in Sept & medical update
Late in August my doctor said I could start to workout again, but to keep my heart rate below 90% of my max. Which basically meant I could swim around 1:20-1:25/100m, bike around 20-24km/h, run around 6:30/km and train Crossfit, but scaled weights and a slower pace.

Rebound
For the lack of a better word, my body weight is finally responding to my lifestyle changes and after 10 months of gaining weight, I have finally seen a drop.

I have a distance future goal of where I want to be, but for the time being I am just going to be happy with the new downward trend…
Finding myself

Beach Event 2016
Last year Crossfit Växjö won the Beach Event at Falkenberg when Fredrik crossed the finish line with the fastest time and I came in fourth. This year Fredrik was away and my participation in the event was doubtful considering what happened last Saturday.
But the weather forecast was sunny and warm, so the family woke up early and we headed to the west coast. Continue reading
Kalmar Swimrun (33km+7km)

Ironman 70.3 Jönköping
So this past Sunday I participated in my first official Ironman 70.3, in Jönköping. I had done the Vättern Challenge, the same distances, but slightly different course, and this time the race was under the Ironman flag, which really helps draw a larger crowd to the race. Continue reading
Kustjagaren (Swimrun) – one down, two to go
So Saturday was the first of three big races in July. Around 1600 Friday I pack my car and head to Karlskrona with my Swimrun partner Fredrik and Peter. Its a short ride to Karlskrona. We arrive just before 1800, check into our room, and then make our way over to registration. We get our racing bibs with lucky nr 11 and then reset our timing chip before heading over to Nivå for a tasty burger.

Three tough races in three weeks…
As most of you know my training over the last 20 months has been sporadic. Swimming being the only anchor keeping my training a float.
Jan and Feb I managed to find a better routine and found myself on a road back to hard training with 9-10 hours/week. But then work and illness got in the way so I only managed 1-5 hours training March and April. In May things slowly turned for the better and I was able to get over 6 hours/week for 6 weeks.
This past week I manged to push myself back into training and had
550 min biking
60 min running
210 min swimming
